Birds and Seeds
There was a beautiful hawk by the bird feeder this morning. Woody assumed he was eyeing the feeder but of course, it was more interested in the birds.
Saturday evening, I finished work for the day and tried to shut off my ACER computer, but it would not shut off no matter what I tried. I gave up and let it run all night. This morning when I turned it on, it was all crazy. Many folders vanished could not get into anything and nothing worked.
I called my service, and at first even the phone wouldn’t work. But finally Woody helped me gt the land line back up and I managed to get through to them. He called back and got the computer working, but vanishing folders and files were more complicated and he had to get back to me later in the day. I wasted almost the entire morning and when he did finallyb get back to me all my photographs were still gone.
Over the last three days, we ordered vegetable seeds together. When we finished yesterday afternoon, I added flowers to the various orders. Today Woody will inventory the supplies that we can’t get locally and I will add them to the orders. Then Monday, Dale will put the seed orders together, etc. etc. It’ll probably take all morning.
I enjoy seed ordering and do a lot of the primary work of going through all the catlaogs and marking possibilities in each. We count on Fedco a lot I always do that one first. Then we do the other five – Pinetree, Seeds “N such, Territorial, Johnny’s and Burpee. I keep a couple of other catalogs as back-up since almost every place runs out of their most popular seeds. The early birds really do get them.
We spent a quiet weekend. We were both catching up on all that didn’t get done during the holidays and both felt a bit under the weather. We wanted to eat simply as well. I gained two and a half pounds from Thanksgiving through New Years and would like to go back to what I weighed before. Woody is ten days in on Dry January. He says he’s sleeping a lot better.
My eyes continue to improve and today I skipped the morning dose of ointment, mostly because to get my computer fixed, I have to be able to follow directions and see the screen clearly. With the ointment, my vision is blurry.
I want to get started revising my book this week but everything takes time. My former assistant and friend Melenie is coming to visit next Friday from Easthampton. Dale, Stephen and Stephanie will be coming over as well. I have been communicating with Stephanie daily as her daughter Mitch whom like very much lives in L.A. So far, she and her family are okay but the air is very unhealthy.
